Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the title of distinguished chair in psychology in the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name has been widely praised as a pioneer in the field of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman has published extensively with numerous grants, and has was awarded several international and national awards. Her work has been with numerous government agencies and institutions throughout the world in research and guidelines pertaining to child victims of the justice system. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is also a founder part of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
